About Nance Jackson

I was interested in art at an early age. In high school I took every art class available. I went on to receive a degree in commercial art. I worked odd jobs and traveled for a few years occasionally doing some freelance work, but not pursuing art full-time.
Later I moved back to Western NY and began working in the printing industry. I color separated original wallcovering designs, (not my own) in order to make them engraving ready. This was in no way creative! After 26 YEARS (Hey life happens...family, bills ...stuff!!), I could no longer ignore the creative voice screaming inside. You know when you get to this point...you can no longer pretend "all is well"...because what's really happening is a part of you is dying. You must find a way to "honor the gift God gave you." Only you can share your unique view...it just takes a "Leap of Faith."
I express my view by painting. Inspired by light & its effect on color, my works range from vibrant "bare bones" landscapes to a single compelling leaf captured in rich detail.
